Tasting Notes

The Lime Rickey, in a Lager.

Lime Danny is what happens when you take the Lime Rickey — the classic gin-and-lime-cordial cocktail — and translate it into a light lager.

Three pounds of real limes go into every barrel. Himalayan salt grounds the brightness so the lime doesn't read as soda. The base lager stays clean, light, low-ABV — 3.8% is session strength, built for beer-garden weather.

Designed for summer but rotates on the chalkboard year-round. Call (484) 231-1501 to confirm before a special trip, or check the live tap list at /draft-list.

Process

How it gets to the glass.

  1. 01

Light American lager base for the clean canvas. Brewed with Himalayan salt — the salt grounds the lime and rounds out the brightness, the same way it works in a Lime Rickey cocktail.

  2. 02

Three pounds of real limes per barrel — not extract, not flavoring. The fruit goes into the kettle for the aroma and lingering bite. Four weeks cold conditioning to round out.

The Short Answers

About Lime Danny.

Is this beer sour?
No — Lime Danny is a light lager flavored with real limes, not a sour beer. The tartness comes from the lime fruit, not from souring bacteria. Crisp, not puckery.
Why the salt?
Himalayan salt grounds the lime brightness and rounds the body — the same way a salted rim works on a margarita or a salt-and-lime soda. Without it, lime in beer can read as one-note. With it, the lime gets depth.
On tap right now?
Yes — Lime Danny is currently pouring. It hits the chalkboard most often in summer but pops up year-round. Call (484) 231-1501 to confirm.
